According to the Education Endowment Foundation, the evidence is clear effective deployment of TAs can have positive impacts on pupil progress, behaviour and reduce teacher workload. However, research shows that too often TAs feel they lack training and are underprepared for their role which leads to a range of negative outcomes.

Crucially, when TAs work in structured settings with high quality support and training, their impact on attainment increases to approximately three to four additional months’ progress (effect size 0.2–0.3). Therefore, it is essential that schools unlock the potential of this group of professionals through high quality CPD.

INSET OUTCOMES: This half-day webinar will up-skill Teaching Assistants, providing a practical toolkit of strategies needed in classrooms, or in 1:1 & small group support. It will also be useful to SENDCos and other school leaders seeking to maximise the potential of Tas in their settings.
