Year 11 pupils – Spanish GCSE Exam Preparation - Reading and Listening - Easter Holiday Event

This is an opportunity for pupils who are taking a Spanish GCSE this academic year to prepare for their reading and listening examinations using a range of fun and innovative activities.

This event will look at practical study skills and proven exam techniques to improve your grade at GCSE.

There will be experienced teachers available to help and the low student to teacher ratio ensures you maximise your chances of success.

This day is focused purely on early preparation for the June 2020 examinations and will cover all the main exam boards' criteria.

Criteria for identifying participants

Pupils should be undertaking KS4 study and wish to improve their reading and listening skills.

  • Please bring your own lunch. Other refreshments provided.
  • School uniform is not required.

Please note: all staff are DBS checked, the event is subjected to a risk assessment by Bath Spa University and there will be at least one first aider at all times.

Presenter profile

Lorena Pino Montilla is a Spanish native speaker. She is an experienced Spanish specialist working for different Language Agencies in the UK giving personalised tuition to KS3-5 students and adults in further education. She holds two bachelor’s Degrees in Arts/Cinematography and in Journalism from prestigious universities in Venezuela. During a decade, she Lectured in Television and Cinema at university level. She has also published ‘The Venezuelan Female Drama, Centuries XIX-XX’ and ‘Distribution and Exhibition of Cinema in Caracas, 1950-1960’.

Since 2012, she has been teaching Spanish in the UK incorporating in her lessons her background in Journalism, Art, Marketing and Films. In 2015 she received the City & Guild Education and Training Level 3 Award at Wiltshire College where she was recently invited as a Spanish teacher for the further education courses. In addition, she is a Coordinator of Faith & Cultural Awareness workshops, Exams Invigilator, Film programmer at FilmBath Festival and developer of the community project ‘Getting Together Through Films’ at Town Hall Arts, Wiltshire.

Our trainers will be assisted by native speakers.
